“Star of India” is a drawing that is strong in color and in statement. The coloring of this Clematis is such a bright and shocking pink and purple that I was immediately drawn in. I enjoyed the different way of laying out this drawing then in previous pieces that I have done. The layering of petals felt natural and made a continuance of color, which seems to bring ones eye back in to the center of the main flower. I like that this piece is larger and thus was more fun for me to create.
